Want a few more days in the Mediterranean after our Balkan Adventure? Consider this!
The flights from Albania go via Athens, so why not join us for a quick taste of Athens as a bon voyage to Europe?
Upon arriving in Athens around lunchtime, our airport transfer will take us to our hotel to settle in. After a brief siesta, we’ll jump right into our adventure with a cooking class. Roll up your sleeves and dive into making Greek classics like moussaka or spanakopita, and baklava or galatopita or something similar. No matter what’s on the menu, we’ll enjoy a fun and flavourful introduction to the city’s rich culinary traditions.
Day two is all about uncovering the city’s hidden corners on a backstreets tour. Wander through Plaka’s winding alleys, discover the street art and artisan shops of Psiri, and snack on local delicacies while soaking in the neighbourhood’s vibrant charm.
For history lovers and first-time visitors an optional Acropolis and Parthenon walking or city cycling tour may suit you. Both options offer stunning views and stories from ancient times. The rest of the day and evening is free to explore at your own pace, by foot, bike or bus.
On day three, we’ll take a day trip by ferry to the tranquil island of Hydra. With its car-free, cobblestone streets and picturesque harbour, it’s the perfect place to slow down. Explore boutiques, enjoy a seafood lunch by the water, and admire the island’s serene beauty.
This just leaves our final evening together to celebrate our last dinner together (optional and own expense). Tomorrow our private vehicle will meet us at the hotel to whisk us to the airport for the flight home.
