Suzanne Holden

CEO, ICON Adventures
Suzanne was born and raised England and as soon as she was old enough to get her own passport, she was off.  Never really one to be dazzled by the bright lights of the cities, off the beaten track was always her preference.

Her first trip was to the USA, to North Carolina and the Blue Ridge Mountains. She recalls, ‘This was my first time on an aeroplane and just after take-off all the oxygen masks were released and swinging above every passengers’ head. I assumed that was normal practice. We never did find out whether it was a fault, or pilot error.  But the good part was, they didn’t bother to land again to investigation the problem!’

This was the start of Suzanne’s love of travel.  In her early 20s she moved to Wales and then Australia.  Again, with no interest in the cities, she has always lived in regional centres of Victoria, NSW, North Queensland and now lives in Toowoomba, Queensland.

She spent many years behind the scenes of ICON Adventures learning the ropes, working between her shifts as a police officer.  The opportunity arose to take over the helm at ICON in 2016. And continues in this position today.
